Therapy with me:

Life is a roller coaster.  We all experience ups and downs, joys and hurts, struggles and successes, losses and gains.  When I am with you, I am deeply present, riding the roller coaster by your side.  Whatever you need in that day or in that moment is what we do.  At times, clients will ask me to simply listen, needing space to vent without interruption to someone who can express that they get it without using words. There are other times clients come seeking peace and validation,  a space for distraction,  or a place to regroup. I will always allow you to decide where we go together, but will remain your expert guide in offering perspective, strategies and helping you find deeper meaning.

How Therapy Will Help You:

Starting therapy is the hardest part. You're vulnerable and seeking connection; opening up to a stranger feels daunting and scary. I'm confident you already possess the strength you need to heal from whatever bogs you down. In our work together I will utilize a multitude of therapeutic approaches (CBT, interpersonal, client centered, trauma focused, solution focused, psychodynamic, etc) to assist you in your journey. At the end of our time together you will have gained more awareness and understanding of your unique ways of thinking and interpreting the world around you, you'll be in tune with your own needs, able to problem solve areas needing improvement, and together, we will celebrate your success.

A Little About Me:

I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of New England.  Since the start of my career, I have had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge surrounding the various components of human emotions.  I've been a counselor in detox units, day treatment programs, outpatient and group programs, and have held positions in children's residential programs, crisis intervention and psychiatric wards.

Outside of work, I am a busy mom of 3 teenagers, carting them around to various sports, clubs and activities.  When I'm not cheering them on from the sidelines, I enjoy restful time at home baking, reading, crafting, knitting, or going for long walks outdoors.  I love going out for breakfast and prefer to eat my dessert before my supper!
