The perinatal period is full of challenges, whether you're finding it harder than you imagined to get pregnant, are struggling with a birth that didn't go according to plan or aren't thriving in a new parent role. We can process, vent, reframe or problem solve. Whatever you need.
You may also be finding that unresolved issues from your past are resurfacing. I am specially trained in a practice called EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), an evidence based practice that facilitates the healing of trauma. My clients often find this to be a very efficient way of processing past hurts and letting go of the problematic patterns they always seem to be repeating.
Additionally, I incorporate a fair bit of cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion focused family therapy into my work. If you and your partner are struggling with communication, transitioning into new roles as parents, or co-parenting effectively, I am happy to work with you together as a couple to improve these dynamics.
